Relax in the mountains

Up here in the mountains life is easy. I needed a break. I know my life is not that hard, but who is judging. Why not take it easy

I have been sending out five or six resumes a day for months. Again no judging. I need to find a job! I need work. I am bored and over flowing with ideas. I could create a wide array of web sites for all kinds of businesses and non-profits.

[Update]

I am back and playing with my iPhone LOL. Life is good.

Verizon iPhone in time For Valentines Day

Verizon iPhone
Verizon chief operating officer Lowell McAdam announced today that a version of the iPhone 4 compatible with its network would be available for pre-order to existing customers beginning February 3, with general availability February 10. The culmination of more than two years of rumors came as almost an anticlimax, as virtually every media outlet was reporting the Verizon iPhone as fact before it was announced. “If the press writes about something long enough and hard enough, eventually it comes true,” McAdam said, acknowledging the long wait for a second carrier in the United States. Apple COO Tim Cook, who joined McAdam on stage at New York’s Lincoln Center, hailed the step, saying Apple was “incredibly pleased to give Verizon’s customers the choice we’ve been waiting for.”

Browser Jumping

By: Chris Coyier on 8/20/2010

If you asked me right now, Hey Chris, what’s your favorite browser? I wouldn’t know what to tell you! I’ve been a Firefox user primarily over the past few years, but over the last several months my allegiance is no longer to any one browser. I’m a browser jumper. I feel like it’s only fairly recently that the tools are finally there that I can do that without too much trouble.

Firefox, Chrome, & Safari

When I say I’m a browser jumper, I really only mean those three. I’d love for Opera to join the party. It’s nice and fast. Its Dragonfly developer tool is fully capable, but it doesn’t support two of my crutch tools: XMarks and 1Password. When that day comes, I’ll switch to it at least for a while. I feel like for obvious reasons I don’t use Internet Explorer. It’s just not as good of a browser and I’m not willing to use it other than for testing. Not to mention, I’m on a Mac. Although I do test on it, using VMWare Fusion and a bunch of “Snapshots” where I keep Windows XP and Vista in different states of having native versions of IE 6/7/8/9.

Public reaction to Prop. 8 ruling

Public reaction to Prop. 8 ruling.

You know… I am almost sick of thinking and/or talking about gay marriage.  I have said it many before and I stand by it: “Who a person marries is between them, there significant other, and there church/judge.”

I’ll I am happy to see gay marriage is now legal in CA (pending appeal), I do not think it should even be a legal issue.  As far as I understand it, the government does not care who “straight” people marry, so why does it matter who “gay” people marry.

It does scare me however that judges have the power to overturn the votes of the majority.  It seems wrong and kind of makes voting pointless.

EQUALITY = NO LABELS …. at least is should.

Apple has a long relationship with Adobe.
In fact, we met Adobe’s founders when they were in their
proverbial garage. Apple was their first big customer, adopting
their Postscript language for our new Laserwriter printer. Apple
invested in Adobe and owned around 20% of the company for many
years. The two companies worked closely together to pioneer
desktop publishing and there were many good times. Since that
golden era, the companies have grown apart. Apple went through
its near death experience, and Adobe was drawn to the corporate
market with their Acrobat products. Today the two companies still
work together to serve their joint creative customers – Mac users
buy around half of Adobe’s Creative Suite products – but beyond
that there are few joint interests.

Am I powerless over Apple…?

For those that know me this list will come to no surprise and will simply give you more ammo to tease me with. Those of you who don’t know me might suggest 12 steps meeting. To everyone else, I ask…. “Do you continuously but crap…. No!. Apple makes great products that enhance not only my image, but my ego as well. BTW there products also when made/designed and “Just work”. Believe it or not I was a PC (NOT politicaly correct) person. I happily converted after playing with my Dad’s 12″ Powerbook with Os X.

Official: Apple now offering iPhones contract free (updated: not unlocked) — Engadget

We heard from 9 to 5 Mac that Apple was due to begin selling a contract-free variant of the iPhone in the near future “at list price.” And guess what happened when we inquired to an Apple store? That's right folks — you can now pick one up for $499 (3G), $599, or $699 (3GS). We've confirmed this info at no less than five stores, so you should be hearing the same message at your local Appletorium. Given the current unfriendly climate between Apple and Google, this could be seen as nasty jab, though if the devices are still carrier-locked to AT&T, you're not being given much freedom. In many parts of Europe (France, Spain, and Poland, for example) you can pick up the carrier-unattached device (and we mean totally unlocked), but that doesn't appear to be the case here.

Update: We're getting mixed reports on the unlock status of these phones. One store says yes to the unlock, while others are saying they're still AT&T-locked devices being sold off contract. We're digging for more info on this now, so stay tuned.

Update 2: It's looking like those initial reports of unlocked devices are inaccurate. It sounds like these devices are still locked to AT&T — so you're just looking at an off contract pricing scheme. Which is also totally lame.
